Outdoor decorating
Organized! by Romanic® owns one 13’ extension ladder and one 8’ step ladder. As you can see in both of the photos above, these two ladders are usually sufficient for the decorations that most homeowners put up at Christmas time. If taller ladders, scaffolding, or a lift bucket are required to decorate tall trees or 2nd or 3rd story roof lines, then Organized! by Romanic® will refer the client to companies that rent, deliver, and pick up the larger tools necessary to do those kinds of jobs. Organized! by Romanic® is a one-woman business but does have access to a crew of laborers if they are needed, however Organized! by Romanic® did all of the decorating in these photos above without assistance (yes, even the roof)! Organized! by Romanic® does not do large-scale commercial Christmas installations.
Organized! by Romanic® uses non-marring plastic hooks to hang lights from gutters, roof lines, and window frames whenever possible. Organized! by Romanic® uses other non-marring means to attach heavier decorations to roofs and trees. Very rarely, if a client wants heavier decorations (for example Santa’s sleigh and reindeer on a roof) Organized! by Romanic® may need to add an inconspicuous hook or eyebolt somewhere on the exterior of the home to secure these kinds of items so they do not topple in a winter storm. However, there are no hooks or eyebolts securing any of the snowflakes (some of which are 4’ in diameter) or the 5’ tall Santa on the roof pictured here: Only non-marring means were used to secure these items. The house pictured here took approximately 20 hours to decorate. It took approximately 4 hours to take the decorations back down off this house, pack them neatly, and return them to their storage area.
Organized! by Romanic® installs exterior tree wraps on small deciduous trees. These tree wraps were done using just an 8’ step ladder. Each branch extends approximately 10’ from the trunk of the tree. It took approximately 12 hours to wrap both trees. It would take approximately 2 hours to unwrap the trees, re-wind the lights so they could easily be put back on the tree the following year, and put them away. Organized! by Romanic® does not recommend leaving wrap lights on trees for more than just the Christmas season. This is because the trees grow around the wires, and they cannot be removed from the tree. This homeowner, however, chose to leave these lights on these trees.
